Eligibility Criteria

  • Profession: You must be a qualified doctor, nurse, health professional, or adult social care professional to apply for the health care worker visa.
  • Job Eligibility: Your employment must be in an eligible health or social care role.
  • Employer Approval: The Home Office must approve your UK employer.
  • Certificate of Sponsorship: Obtain a ‘certificate of sponsorship’ from your employer detailing your role in the UK.
  • Salary Requirement: Depending on your specific role, you should typically earn around £26,200 per year or £10.75 per hour.

Application Requirements

  • Job Offer: You must have a confirmed job offer in the UK before applying for the health care worker visa.
  • English Language Proficiency: If you are not from an English-speaking country listed on the GOV.UK website, demonstrate proficiency by:
    • Passing a Secure English Language Test (SELT) from an approved provider.
    • Holding specific qualifications in English, such as GCSE, A level, Scottish National Qualifications, or equivalent.
    • Having a degree-level academic qualification taught in English from abroad (verification by Ecctis may be required).

Additional Information

Ensure your qualifications are confirmed by Ecctis to be equivalent to a UK bachelor’s, master’s, or PhD degree if obtained abroad.
